Dr. Michel Glotin graduated with a Post-doctoral Fellow from Southampton University (GB) and joined Arkema in 1982. He specialises in Polymer Crystallization, Polymer Blends, nanostructured Polymer Materials, Engineering and Speciality Polymers, and Thermoplastic composites.
Dr. Michel Glotin occupied various positions in Polymer Materials R&D in Arkema, including Head of Materials Research Laboratory, Specialty Polymers Research Center and Senior Scientific and Technology Advisor, Polymer Materials.
Currently, Dr. Glotin holds the position of the Director of Materials Science in Arkema. He is also in charge of the Composite Materials R&D and acts as the Manager of Arkema’s New TP Composite Business.
Head of Institute of Sport Science
Dr. Tsuyoshi Nishiwaki’s research interests include footwear and sporting gear designing based on the finite element method and dynamic behaviour of composite materials. These research fields have two keywords, heterogeneous material and dynamic loading. According to his consideration, all sporting gears must be designed by considering heterogeneous human body response and practical dynamic loading condition.
Dr. Tsuyoshi Nishiwaki graduated from the Department of Science at Osaka University of Osaka, Japan in 1986 and entered ASICS Corporation. In 1996 he completed his doctoral course in composite material science. He now acts as the head of Institute of Sport Science and executive officer in ASICS Corporation. His current work includes optimizing of footwear designing and establishment of quantitative functional evaluation methods based on human response.
Dr. Tsuyoshi Nishiwaki’s contribution to science includes 8 books, 90 papers and conference participation in more than 370 sports and material meetings in Japan and throughout the world. He has also given many lectures on computational mechanics, heterogeneous modelling method and sports science as a guest professor in some universities.

Dr. Jason Cheung joined Xtep sports company in Xiamen, China in 2015 as the head of the Footwear R&D and Innovation Center. His multi-disciplinary research team includes sports scientists, structural and material engineers, footwear developers and designers dedicated to footwear research and innovation.
Dr. Cheung was well-known for his combined computational and experimental approach in the area of footwear biomechanics and orthopaedic research in which he was very well published and awarded. Dr. Cheung was a research fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University before starting his career in the sports industry in 2009.
He spent 6 years with Li Ning sports company as the head of the Sports Science Research Center where he established world class research laboratories and international research team to foster evidence-based footwear product design and innovation at Li Ning headquarters in Beijing, China.
